While many of us enjoy watching collegiate and professional sports like football, we rarely consider the people and technology behind the scenes that support and train these stellar athletes for optimal individual and team performance. Imagine, for instance, that your favorite team is battling it out on the field when all of a sudden, your star player is down on the ground writhing in pain. It turns out he’s experienced a muscle pull and will be on the injured reserve list for the next few weeks.

While you’re busy worrying about what that means for your team’s season, and possibly your personal standings in your fantasy football league, team trainers and coaches are already hard at work devising an exercise and nutrition plan designed to bring that player back to his pre-injury state.
